Awhile back I mentioned a little landscaping project we had undertaken. I've been wanting to re-do our front yard since we moved in last year, because I wasn't digging the original landscaping theme of "Boulders - The Lazy Man's Flowers!" And while a few good rocks definitely have their place, I longed for some color. And possibly some scents. That fresh fragrance of stone just wasn't cutting it.
So I made a trip to Home Depot and selected some new plantings. I wanted a natural, unmanicured look, with lots of flowering stuff, or what I keep referring to an as "English Garden." Mind you, I've never been to England, and have no idea what their gardens look like, but I've never let knowledge and first-hand experience stop me from talking out of my ass.
After a few days of digging, and many bags of Miracle-Gro, my little English Garden is complete. The plants have been thriving and everything is blooming wonderfully. So I thought I'd share a few pics. The only thing missing is my roses, which have already bloomed and aren't ready for their close-ups. And just to add to the authenticity of the whole setting, I've got water boiling and Earl Grey ready for steeping. Spot of tea, anyone?
