It's September 24th (the release date for the new issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today) and I can finally some share some good news with y'all: my layout is on the cover! woo hoo!
When Kerry asked me to submit a page for the fall cover consideration, I enthusiastically said yes! And then I spent the next few days with complete performance anxiety and a severe case of missing inspiration. Plus, I had convinced myself there was no way I could produce a suitable cover page without owning this notebook border punch (which happened to be out of stock everywhere, naturally.) Luckily, my sensible friend Summer talked me down off the ledge and told me in no uncertain terms to chill the hell out. And then I took a trip to Hobby Lobby for some inspiration and discovered the faux twigs and twine, which ended up making a a much better border for this page than any ol' notebook punch. (The green butterfly came from Hobby Lobby too - who knew their floral department could be so inspiring??)
In the end, I was able to create a page I'm pretty proud of and, of course, I am beyond thrilled that they picked it to grace the cover. And don't you know that when I found out it was selected, I went out and bought my darn punch to celebrate. (They are at Michaels now, in case you're wondering - and thanks again to Summer for tracking it down for me!)
So hop on over to the SCT website today and download the fall issue - it's the perfect accompaniment to a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
