The last week (now stretching into two) of my "Marathon Recovery" has left me a bit drained, and if we're being honest, just a tad lazy. I'm discovering this marathoning is hard on a body. I went for an easy run on Sunday (my first since the race) and it hurt. So I decided I definitely need more recovery time. Notice that I've used the term recovery rather than the possibly more accurate description of lounging around, consuming chocolate and wine and avoiding all types of physical exertion. It's all about the branding, people!
And apparently my self-imposed laziness is bleeding over into my blogging, since I haven't updated for five days. But I haven't had too many exciting events to blog about. Unless you count chocolate and wine consumption. Which, by my standards, is pretty darn thrilling. But not exactly the stuff that keeps blog readers coming back.
I could blog about our creepily cobwebbed porch that we spent last weekend decorating with pumpkins, rat silhouettes, and bags and bags of fake cobwebs. And how on Sunday night galeforce winds rewarded our decorating efforts by blowing every bit of it into the next county. A big BOO to the stupid wind. It blows.
I could blog about how much I've been enjoying my heated car seats & steering wheel the past few mornings, thanks to the crisp fall weather that the above-referenced wind has brought to our neck of the woods. My hands and butt are so nice and toasty, at least while I'm driving. So there's that.
I could blog about my intentions of performing my once-a-year manicure and applying the appropriately festive black polish to my nails. To serve as my Halloween costume. Which, obviously, is Woman With Black Manicured Nails. Genius, no?
I could blog that I've officially reached my 2010 threshold for candy corn consumption. So I've made a switch to chocolate, as noted above. Specifically, dark chocolate covered espresso beans. Wheeeeeeeee.
Ah, such riveting blog fodder. What's that? I should just go back to chocolate and wine until I have something interesting to write about? Point taken.
But in an attempt to make it worth your trip over here, I'll leave you with some sneaks of the November Jenni Bowlin Mercantile kit. It's got lots of loveliness from the new Red & Black Extension release. And there's not a kernel of candy corn in sight:
And if you'd like to see a full page with some of Jenni's new line, hop over to the JBS Inspiration Blog where I have a layout featured today.
Enjoy your Wednesday!
