I'm pretty sure you can count on two fingers the number of times I've posted on a Sunday. So what is the reason for this extraordinary exception today? Well, nothing much other than a quiet house (Mike is playing golf, Hayden is doing some homework, and Riely is drawing on the floor behind me). Seems like the perfect time to redeem myself from my blog-slacker status and do a quick Sunday update.
Keeping me busy these days is my ongoing marathon training, which I'm happy to report, is quickly coming to an end. The race is two weeks from today, which stirs in me feelings varying from anxiety to relief. I am looking forward to finishing (and hoping that, indeed I wil!). I'm also looking forward to running without a training schedule for awhile - I've grown to detest that little piece of paper telling me what to do every day. It will be nice to go run the miles that my body feels like running - not what the schedule says I have to run. (And it is very likely that the first few weeks post-race, my body will feel like doing NOTHING. And hey - I figure that's its perogative!)
I've also been occupied with various scrap-related assignments: I am guest designer for Mosh Posh this month, as well as co-hosting a Masterful Scrapbook Design seminar on Layers with the fabulous Dina Wakely, Amber Ries, and Debbie Hodge. I have to admit, I love the kind of creative busyness that October has brought to my schedule. My office looks like a patterned paper bomb just exploded, but I'm a happy girl.
I haven't yet shared my pages from the October Jenni Bowlin Mercantile kit, but I plan to do that this week. (In the meantime, you can check out the design team's gallery!) It was one of those kits that just worked so well for me. My favorite piece was the Crafter's Workshop star template (it's no secret that I am a bit of a star fanatic) and I used it on just about every page. Love that thing! One of my favorite pages resulted from using the template with a light silver mist and layering star cut from patterned paper. I adore the photo on this one, and adding a sprinkling of stars to it just seemed to fit.
Shine | supplies: dotted swiss cardstock (Bazzill Basics) + star template (Crafter's Workshop) + spray ink (Maya Road) + patterned paper (Jenni Bowlin Studio, Cosmo Cricket Pinwheels, Cosmo Cricket Making Plans, Crate Paper) + die cut machine (Silhouette SD) + font (American Typewriter) + buttons + pen (Staedtler)
This afternoon we are headed to see the movie Legend of the Guardians and then plan to wrap up the weekend with dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery. Hope your Sunday is wonderful!
