Since it's the season of giving, I'm switching up my regular Five on Friday feature just a bit. Today's post is all about giving...and there's even a gift in it for one of you too, so keep reading!
One of our advent prompts this week was to give a donation to a favorite charity. And while we normally participate in the Salvation Army's Angel Tree, and donate to the local food and toy drives, this was an opportunity for us to select another favorite cause to give to. The kids had recently listed some gently used toys on eBay and agreed to donate the proceeds. Mike and I matched their earnings, and yesterday we sent an early Christmas gift to the animals at Best Friends. It's an organization that does so much good for our furry friends and it's a cause near and dear to our hearts.
Today I encourage you to give from your heart as well. Select a charity that needs your help and make a simple $5 donation (or more if you can!). Then leave me a comment here and next Tuesday, as a thanks for participating, I'll draw a name to receive a box of happy holiday mail:
