A slow start to 2011.

Wow - is it really already 2011? Our Christmas celebrations blurred into one ski trip, and then into another and we spent the New Year's weekend celebrating up in gorgeous, snow-covered Steamboat Springs. There's something very Colorado about bringing in the new year by hitting the slopes, soaking in the hot tub, sipping the microbrews and watching the snow fall. And now I totally understand why people become ski bums.

We got home late yesterday afternoon and grudgingly unpacked, then spent the rest of the day playing new Wii games, dozing on the sofa and enjoying the last lazy afternoon under the Christmas lights. Today I'll tackle the Un-Decking of the Halls (my absolute least favorite part of the New Year!) and start to catch up on emails, assignments, and general real world adult responsibiltiies. Be patient with me - my head and heart are still on the ski mountain (though my sore, sore muscles are glad they are not!)
