Give a Girl a Camera...

...and tell her you're renting a tux, taking her to a fancy charity event sponsored by your employer, and she's quite likely to set up an impromptu photo session to document the event in your hotel bathroom mirror:

And the photos will have a yellow cast and the camera settings will be all wrong;

and she will crop shots awkwardly:

and many, many shots will turn out blurry:

and some poses will look horribly staged:

But together you will laugh and giggle like kids:
 

and maybe even smooch a little:

and quickly realize that a 50mm lens is ideal for extreme (and somewhat unflattering) close ups!

But if you give a girl a camera, it is quite likely that one particular photo from the evening will stop her in her tracks because it perfectly captures you...and it will remind her that she is, indeed, a very lucky, lucky girl:
