It's been a while since I've done this feature on the ol' blog, so thought I'd update with a page today. This is a pretty simple page to create, and you get to play with both paint & ink! It was featured in a tutorial on the JBS Inspiration blog, so if you want more details & step-by-step photos, you can check it out there as well. Here's the basics:
This Girl | supplies: Bazzill cardstock in kraft & white + Jenni Bowlin paints (Cough Syrup, Chewing Gum, Lemon Drops, Seed Packet, Soap Powder, Chicken Feed) + Jenni Bowlin inks (Cough Syrup, Chewing Gum, Lemon Drops, Seed Packet, Soap Powder, Chicken Feed) + butterfly stamp (Studio Calico) + buttons + stick pins + border punch + JBS letter stickers
1. Select a photo with a large amount of white space on the right that can be overlapped with embellishments. Print photo approx. 10" x 7".
2. Use paint dabbers to color each of the 6 paint colors on white cardstock, covering roughly a 3" area. When dry, use a circle cutter or punch to make 2.5" circles.
3. Stamp butterflies in matching ink colors on white cardstock. The Studio Calico butterfly stamp I used is no longer available, but here's a cute alternative by Jillibean Soup. Trim out butterfly shapes.
4. Adorn butterflies with buttons and/or stick pins. Adhere butterflies to painted circles using foam adhesive.
5. Print journaling on white cardstock & cut into strips. Adhere to circles.
6. Create title with Silhouette (I used the font Doris Day for the word "this") and Jenni Bowlin stickers. Color in the stickers with a red pen.
7. Add scalloped border punched from white cardstock and date stamp as final touches.
