I totally meant to share my Jenni Bowlin layouts on the first of the month when the kits went on sale...but I was on a family weekend in the mountains, with virtually no cell service and much more important things on the agenda. Like playing mini-golf, eating ice cream by the lake, and enjoying an amazing view from a little log cabin in the woods. (Oh and for the record? There may have been white wine involved, too!)
But we're back home now, with a flash card full of photos and a heart full of memories of a wonderful family weekend. Which can only be good for my future scrapping endeavors. But in the meantime, let me share three of my pages from this month's kit, alrighty?!
Nature | supplies: Bazzill cardstock (kraft, aqua, raven) + patterned paper (Fancy Pants Hummingbird, Fancy Pants Feathered) + Fancy Pants chipboard + Fancy Pants paper flowers + GCD paper doily + JBS ticket + Bazzill twine + Fiskars punch + Creative Memories circle cutter + American crafts pen + Silhouette die cut machine + American Typewriter font + machine stitching.
This photo was from a family weekend a few years back and I love the way it looked against the Fancy Pants papers. I created the title in Illustrator with the font Halo Handletter, adjusting the slant of the letters and adding a few flourishes to the word. I cut it out of both aqua and raven cardstock and layered them to create the drop shadow. You can download the file for cutting on a Silhouette by clicking here.
Scenes from School | supplies: Core'dinations cardstock + patterned paper (Fancy Pants Hummingbird, Fancy Pants Feathered, Fancy Pants Pecking Order) + JBS Mercantile mask & stamp + GCD paper doily + Studio Calico wooden letters + Fancy Pants chipboard + Fancy Pants tag + JBS Inks (Lemon Drops, Chewing Gum, Fountain Pen, Seed Packet) + vintage check & ticket, machine stitching.
To add a bit of depth to the cardstock, I rubbed it with green ink (JBS Seed Packet) in the center before laying down my grid. The yellow floral square was created with the kit mask + Lemon Drops ink. I outlined the design with a black pen once it was dry. The pink center square uses the exclusive kit stamp + Chewing Gum ink. I layered a second stamped image (the flower, trimmed out) over the first stamp with foam adhesive for dimension. The title letters from Studio Calico were rubbed with black ink.
Too Fun | supplies: Bazzill kraft, + patterned paper (Fancy Pants Hummingbird, Basic Grey Inviting + Basic Grey Zesty, Bazzill flocked vellum + Fancy Pants flocked transparency) + JBS Mercantile stamp + JBS Inks (Chewing Gum, Chili Powder) + Fancy Pants chipboard + Prima alpha stickers + Fancy Pants paper flower + Studio Calico labels + American Tag postcard + EK Success border punch + Silhouette die cut machine + JBS acrylic mask + Staedtler pen + vintage milk cap, Typenoksidi font + machine stitching.
I loved the variety of transparent papers in the kit and used both the flocked transparency and vellum on this page. I traced a butterfly over the vellum and cut it out, letting the kraft background show through. I also used the kit stamp on Basic Grey paper for one block, combining Chewing Gum and Chili Powder inks. As a subtle touch, I used the acrylic mask with a grey ink pen to trace the pattern around the outer edges of the page.
I've also got a few more projects from the kit (including a two-pager - gasp!) to share soon! Hope you enjoy your Wednesday!
