With school back in full swing and schedules ramping up with homework, activities and fundraisers, my scrapping time is at a premium. And, um whoever is spreading the rumor that moms have more time when kids head back to school needs to come spend a day with me so I can beat them over the head with my rapidly expanding to-do list.
Needless to say, my recent layouts have been quick, simple and speedy. But I'm kinda digging it. It's forcing me to focus on the photos and the story and spend less time on the "fluff" like techniques and embellishments. And while I will always love the creative/artistic aspects of this hobby, sometimes it's nice to get back to basics.
This page featuring my now second grader (gulp!) uses the September JBS Mercantile Papercrafting kit and Artisan add-on (you can still grab the main kit here!) The vintage yellow lined paper in the main kit just says SCHOOL, right? I paired it with a die-cut title, a few wooden buttons and the My Mind's Eye name tag which I used for my journaling.
And if you happen to have a second grader too (or just want a random die cut of the words "second grade") you can download a zipped archive of my files right here. I've included four file types for cutting: .ai, .png, .svg and .dxf. Enjoy!
Now I'm off to find that damn to-do list. Today, that thing is going down!
