I realized this weekend that my overflowing stacks of layouts not only pose a danger of toppling and injuring small animals and children in the vicinity of my office, but also might indicate that I'm just a little bit behind in posting current projects on the blog. So I spent a bit of time organizing my stacks (and actually put a few away in albums - what a radical concept!) If history is any indication, my organization will not last longer than a few weeks, but the amount of projects I have to share should provide blog content well into 2017. So I better get started posting!
I loved the sleek silver and gold foil papers in the Luxe collection and knew they'd be a great match for photos of Riely's spring dance recital. I paired up a silver stripe with the gold star paper, connecting the two with a length of the Artisan Ribbon that I sprayed with Tinsel Color Shine Spritz. For added detail, I cut lots of various sized stars from vellum and scattered them around the page, along with a few rhinestone gems.
On my second page, I used the Silver Hearts Placemat as a mask with the Tinsel Color Shine Spritz to create the background. Because I wanted to use the placemat again on another layout, I placed it face down on my patterned paper and sprayed over the back of it, keeping the front side un-inked for future use. Once the ink dried, I outlined the misted shape with pen to define the edges a bit.
I filled in some of the areas with hearts cut from patterned paper and some of the shapes from the Artisan Words sticker set. To repeat the color theme of pink + black/white, I added two identical photostrips of my niece, one printed in color and one in black & white.
Of course, I couldn't pass up the chance to do a wedding layout with these lines. I again used the Silver Hearts Placemat (the front side this time!) as a base for my photo, layering in some simple paper doilies.
The label stickers were a quick and easy way to add journaling to the layout. Then I sprinkled just a few rhinestones around to add even more sparkle.
So there you have it! Three layouts down...lots and lots more to go. Thanks for stopping by today and hope your Tuesday is fabulous!
