I've spent most of the week up to my armpits in scrappy projects and have had quite a creative streak going, thanks in large part to a perfect combination of caffeine, chocolate and having finally created a Pandora station that doesn't play Jack Johnson every third song. Add in the fact that the kids are back in school and Mike is out of town for work, and all conditions were ideal for a perfect crafting storm.
I'm excited to share some of my creations in the upcoming weeks. Today I'm wrapping up the editing on my latest installment to the Seeing Double video series at Two Peas. I really, really love the projects I've made and I hope you will too.The video will go live next Friday, September 6, so keep an eye out for it!
In the meantime, I wanted to share a layout I did for the Two Peas Garden back in June. The theme was milestones, and Hayden's recent induction into National Junior Honor Society was the perfect topic for me to document. I didn't have a lot of photos from the event - just one shot from the back of a very crowded auditorium and one of the boy with his certificate - but I did have a program, certificate, and quite a bit of journaling I wanted to include. To do this, I made an oversized pocket that would hold all the memorabilia and decorated it with a series of polka dots topped with the framed photos:
I think Hayden should get extra props for making it into NJHS all while being raised by a parent who can't spell "achieving." Oops. Let's hope he can remember the "i-before-e" rule better than his mother. Who apparently loses any ability to spell correctly when she's all hopped up on caffeine and chocolate.
Enjoy your Thursday!
