Happy World Card Making Day! If this isn't the perfect occasion to indulge in a little candy corn and crafting, I don't know what is! I've got two simple cards to share today, as well as some links to fabulous WCMD giveaways - so check them out!
I love shaped cards, especially this easy circle design. I welded together two 5-inch circles (just slightly overlapping them at one edge to allow for the card fold) and cut them out of kraft cardstock on my Silhouette. I added a punched scalloped border around the edge, as well as some machine stitching. A smaller circle of patterned paper and a few embellishments in the center finish it off.
Be sure and hop over to the BasicGrey blog to see lots more card ideas (new posts will be appearing throughout the day!) Each new post will also feature a great giveaway - BasicGrey promo codes for various amounts from $5 to $50!
Can you tell I'm loving the BasicGrey Persimmon line for fall cards? This one is based on a CardMaps sketch and features pennant banners lined up vertically on a stamped backdrop. I used my SIlhouette to cut out the sentiment and adorned the card with some layered embellishments and twine.
You can check out this card and accompanying sketch, along with lots more over at the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog, where new posts (and giveaways!) will be popping up every hour today.
Enjoy your day (and a little candy corn, too!)
