For a four-day week, this one sure was long! So I'm doing the happy dance that it's Friday - woo hoo! Feel free to dance along with me. I'm currently jamming to Happy by Pharrell and yes, I totally look quite like the idiot white girl you're imagining. Sprinkler move, anyone?!?
Bad dancing aside, I'm excited for a little outing tonight with the hubby and his brothers (and respective wives and girlfriends. I mean, they each have one. A wife. And a girlfriend. Er, that doesn't sound right. One has a wife, but not a girlfriend. The other has a girlfriend, but not a wife. Are we clear? Oh whatever! LET'S DANCE!) We've planned this night out to celebrate older brother Ben's 45th birthday, and we'll be enjoying dinner at the Chop House with a little post-dinner shoe shopping on Larimer Square at John Fluevog. And since I'm all for celebrating anyone who's older than me, I might just have to buy a pair of shoes in honor of Ben's big day. At least that's the excuse I'm giving Mike.
So that's what up around here. And while we're on the subject, let me share a recent layout that also discusses what's up with me...currently! I love these list-type documentations to capture the here and now in a simple, easy format.
I created a big patchwork heart from paper scraps for the background. To do this, I cut out the heart shape from a piece of paper and then adhere the patterned paper pieces to it, trimming off the overhang. Then I adhered it to my gray cardstock background. I added a few Elle's Studio tags and wood veneer hearts (inked with aqua) and then stitched around the whole shebang with gray, white and red threads.
Of course, the journaling was the easiest part - just a quick fill-in of the list and I'm done. I die-cut the title on my Cameo from the font Cookie, though I did do some manipulation in Illustrator and added the ligatures at the beginning and end of the word. And yes, I did it all while dancing.
So with that, I'm kicking off the official start of FRIDAY! Hope yours is filled with happy dancing!
