The record snowfalls in Colorado have been fabulous for our weekend ski trips, but not so fabulous for my immune system. I've felt a cold coming on for a few days and despite my best attempts to thwart it by pounding Zicam, Umcka, and a weird whiskey concoction that my mom's friend swears by, on Sunday night I had to admit defeat and just succumb to the sickies. So I've been a bundle of fun (and phlegm!) the past few days. Blergh.
Needless to say, my well-intended plans for blog content have fallen by the wayside this week, and instead I'm focusing on setting the new world record for most amount of tissues used in a single day while watching the Winter Olympics from my comfy couch. It's a lofty goal, but my nasal passages are totally up for it. And I'm hoping to rally by Friday so we can spend the upcoming three-day weekend back on the slopes.
So while we are on the winter theme and all, I thought I'd share an older layout that's been sitting at the bottom of my "To Post On Blog" pile for quite some time:
This page was featured in the Scrapbook & Cards Today Sketch Calendar for 2013, and used one of my all-time favorite winter collections, City Sidewalks from Pink Paislee. I made the chevron border across the middle by punching squares from patterned paper, slicing them in half diagonally, and then off-setting them slightly to form a zig zag. I added machine stitching along each edge to tie it all together.
I'm also sharing the cut file for the word "fun" (the snowflake is included, too!) You can download a zipped archive of the files (.ai, .svg, .dxf) by clicking on the image below:
Hope you all are doing well and avoiding the winter bugs! And if you have any tissues to spare and want to support my Olympic efforts, feel free to send me a box. They are piling up here faster than the snow!
