*Admit it. You're totally saying to yourself, "Um, isn't that about every third post, Lisa?"
This week the blog has been bumped to the bottom of the priority list, but I wanted to try and get at least one post up to say Hey! I'm still alive! Though after this week, I may not be. My iCal looks like a rainbow of meetings, appointments, school events and project deadlines. Our little kitten Tater has been sick and we've been back and forth to the vet on a daily basis. And I picked last Sunday to start training for a half marathon, and the resulting aches and pains have my body responding with a loud WTF??!
And don't even get me started on the backlog of laundry and housekeeping that I've been cleverly avoiding since spring break. I had kinda hoped the Easter Bunny might collect some of his long lost dust bunny relatives and take them away this weekend, but no such luck. Stupid rabbit.
But since the blog has always served as my emotional dumping ground, I'm staying going to lay (or more accurately, type) it all out there. Because something about reading my whiny complaints helps me to put them in perspective. And then I tell myself, "Get over it, ya big pansy. So you're busy. You could have this guy's problems." (Though if I was ever to get caught wandering naked in public, it would definitely be in Target. A girl's gotta have her standards.)
So let's move on to something that always boosts my spirits even more than making fun of Walmart streakers...spring break! Yes, it's over, but the reliving the happy memories brings me peace, even when life is crazy. And they're especially lovely when enjoyed with a margarita. Here's a page I did about our most recent trip:
S U P P L I E S :
It features the new Jenni Bowlin wood veneers, sequins, and stencils, all of which are also making me pretty happy. The wood frames hold a 2x2 photo, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite sizes to scrap.
I used a combo of watercolors, acrylic paint, and fine tip markers with the new Plus One stencil to make the background. It's way more technique-y than I usually do, but it was kinda fun mixing up the media.
I die cut the word "mexico" from the font Janda Stylish Script and added some of the small Jillibean Soup alphas to complete my title.
So there you go - a page that documents each of our favorite things about the vacation. And coincidentally, Happy Hour is going to be my favorite thing about this week, too. Try not to look so shocked.
Here's to making the rest of your Wednesday (and mine, too!) whine-free!
