Guess I took the end of the school year to mean that not only are my kids on vacation, I am too! (Thus the week-long hiatus from the blog - sorry!) Last week, my parents loaded up both kiddos and headed off on a road trip to Kansas, back to my grandmother's place for some country living. Lots of fishing, picnics, weenie roasts, sprinkler-running, and other good things that perfectly kick off summer ensued. Meanwhile back at a quiet kid-free house, I've been working on my summer flower pots, cleaning closets, and of course getting in a little bit of scrapbooking!
Today I wanted to share some of my Garden projects from May, where we focused on scrapping our history and heritage. I opted to document a few of the stories from Mike & my early years as high school sweethearts. The first is part of my Moments video, which shows the steps I used to create a diagonally striped background for this colorful summer page:

Though I cringe at publicly displaying my horrendous 90s hair in this photo (I'm pretty sure I single-handedly kept Sun-In hair lightener in business back then), the story behind it is too important to fall victim to vanity. I've hidden the journaling on a tag that tucks into a pocket behind a chipboard frame.
