Happy Monday! After a whirlwind weekend with a trip to the amusement park, the first swim meet of the season, a car show, a block party, an impromptu BBQ at the neighbors (with killer margaritas that prompted more than a few tipsy Instagram posts) I can honestly say I'm pretty stoked for a regular ol' Monday. I've got the July JBS Mercantile kit on my desk, the Avett Brothers cranked up, and full pot of coffee to fuel me on. I'm working on a video with the kit (look for a peek on the JBS Inspiration blog later this week) and hoping to crank out a few additional pages as well.
And speaking of videos, I have a brand new one in the Two Peas Garden today! It features this page, a regular 12x12 layout with a pocket page insert, that documents a typical day in the life of our family.

After diving headfirst into Project Life a few years back (and of course, buying a ton of pocket pages and supplies) I made it about three months into the year before I was completely bored with the concept. The repetitive layouts began to all look the same and filling those pockets with weekly photos and info became a chore that I dreaded completing.
It took me some time to revisit the idea of pocket pages, but lately I've been using them in combination with my traditional scrapping and have discovered that they are a great way to add in extra photos and memorabilia. I get to keep the creative aspect of scrapping layouts but can incorporate the pockets pages when I need more space to tell the story. Plus, I love the interest that the various insert sizes add to my albums.
I've used several of Wilna's fabulous cut files on this spread. If you don't have some of her script words in your Silhouette library, go get them now! They are seriously some of the most-used files in my collection.
Hope you'll check out the video and let me know what you think. And have a marvelous Monday, my friends!
