Yeah, I know it's Thursday. I really should have thought about my procrastination issues when I named this blog feature. Wardrobe Whenever-the-Hell-I-Get-Around-to-It would probably have been more fitting.
So I have a thing for button-down shirts, especially when they are happy colors and patterns. They always look a bit more polished than a tee but still have that comfort factor. They're great for layering in the colder months but stand alone when it's warmer (ala casually rolled-up sleeves). And since J. Crew Factory Store always has a huge selection of cute (cheap!) options, my closet is usually well-stocked in this staple.
The only thing I really hate about cotton button-downs? The fact that they often require ironing to make them look presentable. Despite the steam settings and wrinkle-free claims made by my dryer, these shirts just don't look good without the help of the antiquated chore. And since I can usually only motivate myself to iron about twice a year (and even then, it requires a decent amount of pinot grigio) I guess it's a good thing I have lots of these shirts waiting in reserve. You know, so this ironing thing doesn't cut into my drinking wine thing.
So what's your favorite wardrobe piece to stockpile? And does it pair well with wine?!
