A certain little girl's ninth birthday is just around the corner. And though I have no idea how nine years has gone by already (wasn't I just pregnant?!) I'm reluctantly starting to plan a celebration for her last single-digit year. *sob!* She gives me daily updates on how exactly many days we have left to plan, and I give her daily threats to stop growing up so gosh darn fast.
Case in point? It seems like just yesterday when I made this layout documenting her seventh birthday. And though I have not yet mastered the birthday-candle-glow photo, I do love this one. It deserved a page all its own!
S U P P L I E S :
I wanted to include lots of the colorful BasicGrey papers, but still keep it simple and the harlequin pattern was perfect for that. I cut the various diamonds on my Silhouette and embellished many of them with small die cuts, chipboard, transparencies and stickers.
To make the borders between the diamonds, I used baker's twine adhered with Martha Stewart Gel Adhesive. It is the perfect for glue for this type of application because the fine tip lays down a very thin line of glue and it dries really quick!
The title is another Silhouette cut using the free font Sofia. I added a tiny chipboard tag with letter stickers in front of it, and a few strips of journaling below. The result is a page that appears farily simple and clean at first glance, but has lots of little details if you look closer.
And with that, I'm off to consult with the girly about birthday plans. Unlike this page, I have a feeling the party is going to end up being anything but simple!
P.S. I have a new Wardrobe Wednesday post up today if you happened to stop by looking for that. The full pot of coffee I consumed yesterday was very instrumental in me drafting two posts in one day. In other news, they're also ice skating in hell - wha?!?)
