We've definitely had our share of April showers these past few days, and now things outside are getting green and very close to blooming. It's always pretty exciting to know I didn't kill all the flowers with my brown thumb last year! So in honor of the spring showers and flowers, thought I'd share an equally bright and happy layout here today:
S U P P L I E S :
I love all the fabulous colors of Bella Blvd papers, and they were a great match for this photo of my kiddos at the Botanic Gardens. I cut lots of circles from the papers (ranging from about 1" diameter up to 3") and clustered them in three groups around my photo.
Before adhering the circles, I used a template to trace several circles on the cardstock with black pen. This simple step helps the circles appear as one group by adding a subtle border around the group. I also added stickers, buttons, twine and washi tape to the circles for texture and dimension.
For the title, I cut out letters using the font Arial Black. On each letter, I glued coordinating baker's twine to the edge before layering them below the photo. I love this technique for anything that needs a little extra "oomph" in the design.
Another thing that adds "oomph" to anything? Lots-o-coffee. Which is what I'm off to consume right now. Let's do this, Tuesday!
