One of my favorite aspects of Christmas is the decor - from the soft glow of twinkle lights to the smell of pine to the well-worn nativity scene that gets set up every year (one wise man is missing a head from Shinerbock's puppy days) I love being surrounded by things that feel nostalgic, cozy and comforting. And even though I grumble - which is the nice way of saying cuss like a sailor - when the strings of lights burn out or I have to vacuum up pine needles eight times a day, I still love the feeling our house has when it's all decked out for Christmas.
My kids love the holiday decor, too and once Thanksgiving dinner has been cleared, they start asking about decorating. Their favorite part is getting to see the ornament collections they've curated over the years (they select a new ornament each year to add to their assortment) and remembering why they selected each one. The ornaments range from monster trucks to unicorns, bulldogs to yorkies, and lollipops to bow ties. I love how their ornaments reflect their interests and tastes any given year. This page features some shots of kids decorating the tree and rediscovering their prized Christmas baubles.

I set the whole design on an angle, with a 4-square grid of photos and various sized circles to fill the page. The circles are layered with papers, die cuts, transparencies, dimensional embellishments and stickers - because just like a Christmas tree, you can never have too many decorations!
To set the title apart, I used a house-shaped die cut and layered the word "home" over it. I love using brush script fonts for titles because of their handwritten look. Some of my favorites include Cheddar Jack, Charade, Housegrind, and Bakery (all free downloads at dafont.com).
So in the spirit of housewarming, today I have a mystery box giveaway! The winner will receive a box full of various scrapbook goodies (all newer releases and products - similar to my Blogarage Boxes!) to brighten up your scrap table this holiday season.
If you would like to be entered to win, just leave me a comment today telling me your favorite holiday decor! I'll pick a winner on Monday and announce them here. And now I'm off to gaze at Christmas lights!
