After a whirlwind week of birthdays, anniversaries, swim meets, VBS and oh yeah - a parade!! it's finally Friday and we are looking forward to a relatively event-free weekend (Can I get a woo hoo!) And since everyone in the Dickinson household has passed around a nasty respiratory infection and cough for the last few weeks, it's probably good that we have a low-key couple of days to recoup and recover from all of the summer festivities.
Hopefully that will involve some time outside in our gorgeous Colorado weather. We've been breaking records with our high 90s heat, and we need to soak it up while we can before the snowflakes start falling. Speaking of being outside, I haven't yet shared my second layout in the summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards, which just so happens to document that very topic!
S U P P L I E S :
We spend many summer nights camping near Vasquez Creek in WInter Park and it's a favorite spot for our family. So when it came time to take our annual Christmas card photo, we headed back to that spot to snap a few shots. These were some of the photos that we got and they worked perfectly with the Jillibean Soup collection, Mushroom Medley!
I used three different sized circles to frame my photos and clustered several outdoor-themed die cuts in each. To add to the natural outdoor feeling, I trimmed each circle with hemp twine for a bit of texture.
We'll be heading up to this very spot next weekend for camping, and seeing these photos makes me excited for s'mores, campfire stories and family time in the great outdoors. Wishing you all great weekend adventures!
