This week has passed in a blur as I spent most of down for the count with the dreaded spring flu. I guess my genius idea to add Airborne to my vodka in an attempt to boost my immunity failed. Miserably. After watching the Superbowl halftime show and embarrassing myself (and my kids) by knowing all of Gaga's lyrics - and belting them out in a robust falsetto - I fell into bed and am just now emerging feeling slightly human again.
And since it's almost Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share a festive page all dressed up in red and pink. Though it features my girl before her spring concert, it could definitely be adapted for a love-themed layout!
S U P P L I E S :
I used the Bella Blvd Valentina line since the abundance of pink, hearts and cupcakes coordinated well with the photos of Riely in her poodle skirt. I used the ombre stripe paper as my base, turning it on its side so the darker red stripes were on the left. Then I layered a piece of red polka dot transparency on the left edge and secured it with a scalloped border sticker. The vertical stripes of the base paper inspired me to keep my design vertically oriented as well, so I created a column using blocks (the cupcake and love patterned paper), and my two photos, which I adhered slightly askew.
I added some chipboard pieces, stickers and enamel embellishments above and below the photos, keeping everything in the same color scheme of red, pink and white. This left a space on the bottom right for my title, as well as a few journaling strips.
And while Riely might never master the obnoxious singing stylings of her mama (a fact for which she's undoubtedly grateful), she does look awfully cute captured on this page. And she's thrilled that her upcoming concert performances don't feature any songs her mom happens to know the words to.
Happy Friday, friends!
