It's been many moons since I posted a Whip-Up-A-Page idea (I guess Simple Saturdays kinda replaced that whole feature) but I figured what better week to share a quick page than Thanksgiving? Because if you're like me, you're elbow-deep in mashed potatoes, pumpkin purèe, and chestnut stuffing, and who has time for scrapping anyway?!
The lead-up to Thanksgiving has to be one of my favorite times of year. I really love planning the meal, shopping for all the essentials, and preparing the recipes. (But cleaning the house in preparation for guests? Notsomuch. But my kids are off school! Let the child labor commence!) I'm not really that domestic any other time of the year, but come the third week of November, I'm giving Martha Stewart a run for her money. So naturally, I had to document that slight obession on a layout:
S U P P L I E S :
I had snapped a few phone photos last year of my preparations for the grand feast and they weren't the greatest quality, so I chose to print them small (about 2.25" square). I created a striped background with various patterned papers from the BasicGrey Persimmon line, punching a few strategic circles to let the kraft background show through and highlighting some of the fun embellishments from that line.
I printed my journaling directly on the background cardstock and adhered a die-cut title above it, using a slightly lighter cardstock. The font is Janda Stylish Script, but I adjusted the slant just a bit in Illustrator, tipping it to the right.
Hope your Thanksgiving preparations (if applicable) are going smashingly! Speaking of which, I've got some potatoes to smash right now...
