I jumped on the Project Life bandwagon back in 2012 and while I have failed to keep up with it regularly (due to a little known ailment called FOCA - Fear of Completing Albums that also affects my December Daily, Week in the Life, and All About Me projects) I do still love me some Project Life supplies. So while I rarely create conventional pocket pages anymore, I do love incorporating the products into my traditional scrapping!
S U P P L I E S :
I created this spread for the winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards using the adorable Heidi Swapp Project Life kit. I love the non-traditional holiday colors and the vellum snowflakes are simply gorgeous! And using a coordinated kit makes production selection fast and easy, not to mention everything is cut to size and ready to be placed on the page. The less I have to interact with my cutting tools, the better!
I used the 3x4 and 4x6 cards across the top of the layout, creating the perfect landing spots for my photos. I was able to feature 17 shots which give a nice overview of our month. Though I could have used only the PL kit and some cardstock to complete this page, I mixed in some Doodlebug holiday die-cuts for a little extra pop of pink, along with a few pearls and tulle ribbon for extra sparkle.
I finished the spread with a big, festive title using the font Buttercup and my silhouette. It's a fabulous handwritten script that is making regular appearances on my pages these days - and it's a free download so go grab it for your library!
So even if you're a traditional scrapper like me, don't overlook Project Life supplies for creating quick pages. Take them beyond the pocket and they are definitely are a great option for simplifying the documenting process!
