Awhile back, I promised a tutorial on how I make Riely's hairbows. So after a crash course in iMovie, and many late nights carefully studying QVC hosts, I managed to pull together this very rough piece of footage on the elevated art of hair bow creation. Please ignore the number of times I say "sooooo." (Or make a drinking game out of it and take a swig every time I say it! It might not be quite as annoying if you're buzzed!)
I'd recommend using a nice quality grosgrain or satin ribbon for this project, in whatever width you prefer. (The wider the ribbon, the bigger the bow!) I typically use 3/4" - 1" width ribbon for most of Riely's bows. So, here's the list of materials you'll need:
1 yard of ribbon, cut into 3 pieces (two 13" lengths; one 10" length)
Fray Check
hot glue gun
floral stem wire (26 gauge), cut into 4" pieces
1.75" metal alligator clip
scissors
small scrap of wax paper
Yeah, so there it is. Now get along and make some bows for your little girl (or your poodle, or heck, even for yourself - I won't judge!) Ciao, my friends!
