Bah. I've got a serious case of the Mondays. Which is probably because my to-do list includes (1)cleaning a horribly dirty, dusty and pet-hair filled house; and (2)working on a boring text-heavy project for a client that requires no creativity or artistic ability, just spell-check and good grammar skills. Blech. So naturally, instead of doing either of those tasks, I'm blogging! Nothing like keeping the procrastination momentum rolling along. :)
So let's focus on happier times - like the weekend! Here's what we were up to:
- Hayden's football team played their first game of the season and made a stellar showing, despite the scoreboard showing a loss. H made some great plays as both quarterback and on defense. And as usual, the snacks & social time after the game made it all fun. There was Gogurt! Need I say more?
- I convinced my staunchly Gap-only-jeans-husband to make a trip to The Rack and try on both True Religion and Rock-n-Republic jeans. Did he buy either pair? Well, no. But just getting him in the dressing room carrying anything with embroidery on the pockets was progress. And even though he wasn't feeling the metrosexual vibe enough to purchase the denim, he did get a Bugatchi shirt that contains BOTH the colors lavender and coral. Baby steps here, people!
- I went on an 11-mile run with Alison in preparation for the Boulder Backroads race next weekend. The cooler temps made it as tolerable as eleven miles can be, and we rewarded ourselves with dinner and cold beers at Rock Bottom that evening. And that, my friends, is my real motivation for running: the guilt-free carbs that can be consumed post-run!
- I possibly made a big mistake in telling my hairstylist, Eddie, that I wanted to go with espresso brown haircolor for a new fall look, as my hair ended up being really, really dark. And while it does make my eyes look amazingly blue, the jury is still out on whether or not I can pull off the dark brunette look. On the upside, I won't be needing a wig for my Morticia Addams Halloween costume this year.
{at your request, ETA this photo. Be nice. I already have enough reasons to need therapy.} - We spent way too much time watching this YouTube video. But if you want a song to stick in your head for days on end and you think you might enjoy seeing a GummiBear imitate the Michael Jackson crotch grab, pop on over and take a peek. Be warned, it's two and half minutes of your life you'll never get back. :)
And speaking of movin', groovin', and jammin'....I've got to get my butt in gear and get some stuff done. ('cause I'm a Gummi Bear!) Happy Monday!
