After this post about the 10-minute page, I received quite a few comments and emails requesting that I make this a more regular feature on the blog. So I'm back today with the first installment of Lift This Page! (it's a working title for now, because, with only one cup of coffee in me, it's the most creative name I can muster. But that needless exclamation point on the end really seems to drive the excitement up a notch, no?!)
I'm including a supply list and, when available, online sources where you can get them. The step-by-step instructions may be overkill for more advanced scrappers, but I thought I'd include them just to be thorough. By all means, let me know your thoughts and feedback in the comments! And if you do create your own page, link me up, as I'd love to see what you create.
New Lawn Boy | supplies: Bazzill Basics cardstock (Mediterranean, Wildberry Pie) + Core'dinations Burnt Sugar Stars cardstock + Jenni Bowlin papers (Target Practice, Chicken Feed) + Jenni Bowlin Mini Die Cut Label + Jenni Bowlin Black Ledger Alphabet + Jenni Bowlin Brown Embellished Butterflies + green Sharpie + yellow buttons + twine + blue ribbon
Instructions:
1. Set up journaling in a word processing program using the font Leicester. I used my large format printer to print on the 12 x 12 cardstock, but if you don't have one, you can cut the cardstock down to 8.5 x 12 and print the text down the long side of the paper. Use a 3.5 x 12" strip of the lighter blue cardstock taped to the dark blue to make the background. The patterned paper strips across the middle of the page will conceal the seam.
2. Print three photos approximately 2.5" x 3.5".
3. Cut ten circles from the Target Practice paper. (I used the smallest circle from the Creative Memories cutting system, but you could hand-cut these as well.) Trim around the circles on a 2" strip of the Burnt Sugar Stars cardstock, making a scalloped edge.
3. Trim a 2.5 x 12" piece of the Chicken Feed paper. Layer the pattern papers and star cardstock as shown across the center of the page and adhere. Arrange your photos in a slight arc across the top and adhere. Stretch the blue ribbon across the seam between the brown cardstock and green grid and tape the edges around the back edge of the cardstock.
4. Use the green sharpie to color in the letters needed for your title. Stick the letters to the die cut label and adhere the label to the center of the page.
5. Thread two yellow buttons with baker's twine and tie bows. Gently pop off the rhinestones from the butterflies and replace with the buttons. (I adhered them with glue dots.) Adhere the butterflies on each side of the label.
