Because I know the lifespan of my trendy red jeans is fleeting, I've had them in regular rotation for wearing this winter. But I haven't been too adventurous in styling them, sticking with chambray or denim shirts, white tees, or maybe a grey cardigan. So when I saw this page in a recent J. Crew catalog, I was inspired to mix things up:
Mint green with red? Wha, wha?? But if it brings on the crowds of cute snowboarding guys, then let's give it a try!
I pulled out a much-neglected mint green cardi (I always felt it looked too washed out when I'd wear it!) and slipped it over a comfy striped tee.
And of course, the requisite extra-long tank layered underneath because I can never find tees quite long enough to cover the damn muffin top.
Hmmm...it seems I don't have quite the milk shake of the J.Crew model. Because there are no boys in my yard.
So maybe the color combo isn't so great at attracting male models. But it did result in a new outfit that I like very much. And I have sparkly shoes! So who needs boys?!
