Gray Area

Next to white, the most prevalent color in my closet is gray, and I've been reaching for it a lot lately. Specifically, to pair with other neutrals. It's not really like me to be drawn to a lack of color, but the neutral-on-neutral combo is working for me right now. Something that's not working for me right now? My phone, which is, in fact, sticking out its tongue at both me and the nice guys at the Apple Store trying to diagnose the issue. Hmph. 

Along with the color gray, I'm also having a slight love affair with these boyfriend jeans from Madewell. I may have worn them most of the days since Christmas (and let's be honest -- on the days I wasn't? I was wearing pjs.) They are pretty much perfect from the first wear but amazingly get better each time I pull them on. And they just so happen to be on sale and eligible for an additional 30% off with the code SHOPNOW. So this post all about gray has become somewhat convoluted with phones and sales and some random babbling. But sometimes, you just gotta go with it.  And by it, I mean gray.

Bring on the Blanket.

One might assume from my previous post admitting my tendencies to binge-watch Bravo TV series, that when I refer to blanket, I'm talking about the home decor item used when napping on the couch wearing flannel pajamas and my husband's sweatshirt. But the whole origination of the Wardrobe Wednesday feature was to make me accountable for at least one outfit a week that doesn't involve my beloved pjs (and believe me, they've been in heavy rotation over the Christmas holidays). So today I'm actually using the term in regards to my new favorite plaid blanket scarf.

It's a piece that's been instrumental in my wardrobe this wintery season. It's warm, it's snuggly, and when paired with jeans and a drapey tee, it creates an outfit that's almost as comfy as pjs and decidedly more appropriate for blog post photos. It's even given me a new attitude toward sub-zero temps: Bring them on, I say! I have toasty thermal protection to bear the long winter months...or at least the 10 minutes it takes to snap these shots! 

The boots were a birthday present that have seen almost as much wear as the scarf. I say almost, because while they've proven to be versatile, they just aren't as comfortable to snuggle up with and take a nap. Napworthiness - it's gonna be the next big trend. Or maybe just on my couch.
