I'm the kind of girl who gets overly excited for fall fashion, usually donning boots, scarves and wool sweaters waaaaaayy before the weather actually calls for them. And thus, I'm also the girl who's sweating profusely while wearing her favorite autumnal duds (and sipping on hot spiced cider, because who drinks iced anything after Labor Day?!!) I love the coziness of clothing in the fall and I can't wait to wear it all, overheating be damned. So when I spotted this pink felted jacket at the thrift store - and saw it was also short sleeved!! - I knew I'd found a fabulous transitional piece to wear on those days when the stupid weather wants to act like it's still summer.
Tulle Swing Coat (on Swap.com) | Old Navy High Rise Rock Star Jeans | Mossimo Peplum Tank (similar) | H&M Stripe Heels (on Poshmark) | Perry Street "Monica" Necklace | Asos Clutch (cute alternative)
Even though we actually got our first snow in Colorado last week, today it's back up in the 70s and my winter garb is going to have to wait awhile before making its debut. So I grabbed my new jacket and threw it on over a simple white tank and jeans. And since the snow has long since melted, I'm able to wear some summery striped kitten heels (because I ride the stripe bandwagon ANY time of year!)
The jacket can easily transition to cooler weather when paired with a long-sleeve lacy blouse or a striped turtleneck. And I kinda love the happy pink to brighten up those inevitable gray winter days! Here's a few other ways I plan to style it:
Mossimo Joggers (similar) | J. Crew Llama Tee | Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers
Old Navy Mid-Rise Rock Star Jeans | Old Navy Striped Tee | Freebird Booties | Forever 21 Pendant (similar) | Aztec cuff
Hope you're having a great week and staying warm (or cool!) as the case may be!
